User Guide

INSTALLING FONTS on DESKTOP MAC & PC

BEFORE opening the Logo Templates: INSTALL ALL FONTS.

*ALL FONTS ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR DOWNLOADS*

Installing the fonts will ensure that the type is properly formatted when you open the templates.

If you are using a Mac, you can just drag that Google Fonts folder into your font management software. (I use & recommend FontBook, which is a default program on every Mac). Once you do that, all the fonts will be active and you can open up the logo templates and they should be properly formatted with all the fonts.

If you are on a PC, here are more instructions on how to load the fonts.

This tutorial shows how to edit logo templates from a different bundle, called Logo Design Master Collection. But the method is the same for the templates in this bundle.

Instructions

1) BEFORE opening the Logo Templates: INSTALL ALL FONTS.

2) Open any of the PSD templates in Photoshop. (File > Open)

3) Open your Photoshop Layers Panel. (Window > Layers)

EDITING TEXT

4) Use the Type Tool to highlight and edit the text.

5) Open your Character Window (Window > Type > Character).

6) You can change the font to anything you have installed on your computer.

7) While your text is highlighted, you change the Font Size and Tracking (letter spacing) to make your replacement text to fit on the logo shape.

EDITING TYPE & SHAPE COLORS

8) Simply select any shape or text element to assign it a new color.

TROUBLESHOOTING

FONTS - If your type looks plain and unformatted, like the example on the left, the fonts that came with your downloads are not enabled. Make sure to install & activate those fonts so the templates will look correct when you open up the files.

9) SCALING PROBLEMS - In your Illustrator General Preferences, make sure to have Scale Corners and Scale Strokes & Effects both checked. Otherwise, stroke weights and also some corner radius dimensions will remain constant when you scale up or down your logo.

10) If you are still having any scaling problems, you can convert your strokes and type to outlines. First edit your type. Next, select your logo and go to Object > Expand Appearance. Then select the logo again and go to Object > Expand. Make sure the Object, Fill, and Stroke options are all checked.

OTHER NOTES

• Feel free to move type & elements around to suit your needs! You can add in your own elements, icons, etc.

• If you are using Adobe CC, you may have free access to Adobe Fonts with your CC subscription.
