20 Vector Ai & Bitmap Tiff Textures

Bitmap TIFFs are the best way to add distress texture in Illustrator. They look great, hold tons of detail, and require much less computing power than vector textures. But if you prefer vector format textures, you can choose to use the Vector AI versions of the Gritty Halftone textures.

The “Opacity Mask” Method

If you are using the textures for t-shirt design, you will most likely want to knock transparent texture through your design so that the fabric beneath color shows through.

I recommend using the “Opacity Mask” method. Here’s how:
