17 Bitmap Tiff Textures
Bitmap TIFFs are the best way to add distress texture in Illustrator. They look great, hold tons of detail, and require much less computing power than vector textures. Bitmap textures will have automatic transparency in Illustrator, and you can assign them a color, just as if they were vector!
The “Opacity Mask” Method
If you are using the textures for t-shirt design, you will most likely want to knock transparent texture through your design so that the fabric beneath color shows through.
