ADJUST FABRIC SHADING

6) Double click here in the “Shading Levels” layer to increase or decrease the lighting & shadow contrast.

The “Properties” window will open.

7) In the Properties window, you can adjust these sliders to non-destructively add or remove contrast to the fabric shadows.

In general, a white or lighter t-shirt will need less dark shading.

For colored and darker shirts, you can move the leftmost slider to the right until you get the right amount of contrast. Adjust the sliders to where the contrast looks good to your eye. There’s no right or wrong answer here.

MAGIC FABRIC TEXTURE

Please note that the “Magic Fabric Texture” is a very subtle texture meant to increase the realism of your mockup images. This texture is too subtle for real screen printing or DTG printing. For production textures and printing real t-shirts, have a look at the Plastisol Textures, Every Day Textures, Snap Crackle Textures, etc. that can be found in the T-Shirt Design Master Collections 1&2.

8) Click to highlight the Magic Fabric Texture Layer.

9) Adjust the amount of texture by changing the layer opacity.

DISPLACEMENT MAPPING

Displacement Mapping will warp your graphic to follow the fabric wrinkles.

10) Click to highlight your art layer.

11) Go to Window > Distort > Displace...

12) The Displace window will pop up. Choose a Horizontal & Vertical Scale of 30

13) From the Displacement Maps folder, choose the displacement map (1 through 7) that corresponds to the Fabric Panel (1 through 7) that you are using.

14) When your t-shirt image is looking good, you can save it out as a JPEG or PNG using the File > Save for Web function. In most cases you won’t need the full 4000 x 4000 pixel resolution, so you can size the image down during this “Save for Web” function.
